That’s where our Gallium Iodide (GaI) lamps come in. They hit that sweet spot between 250nm and 300nm, giving you the exact UV punch you need. The heat is the real challenge. Because these lamps use a specific gallium fill to shift the emission peak, they let you target photoinitiators in your coatings or adhesives with a lot more accuracy. But here’s the catch: they runhot. We use high-purity quartz to stop the glass from clouding over, but that only goes so far. If your cooling air isn’t dialed in perfectly, you’re going to see your output drop. Worse, if the airflow is too low, the tube will just stress out and burn out way too soon. Just a heads-up, though: this kind of high-intensity UV-C is aggressive. It’ll eat through certain plastics and gaskets if you aren’t careful.
